Box Tie wants to be your "cheater" cross-hatching design. It gives a cross-hatched look without rows having to touch - it's much easier to execute! This design is different from all of our other designs as it includes a "standard" edge-to-edge file that does have some backtracking. The zip file you get upon purchase also includes an extended-width option to eliminate most of the backtracking that travels across the whole width of a quilt, and then back to the right to complete the x shapes. We've also provided a left-to-right version of the file to use if your machine does not do well traveling right-to-left. Read more about the design in our blog post.

EXTENDED WIDTH DESIGN: Please read more info on extended-width designs here if you have never worked with them before. The default size is 120" wide for Box Tie, so clip or trim to the width of the quilt. With this design, we also include a "standard" edge-to-edge file (non-extended-width), if you prefer to use that instead.
